70s Squash and Table Tennis Comp

In a bid to recover from the traditional Christmas excesses, more than several club members assembled on Tue 29th Dec for a 70s squash and table tennis competition.

After the initial haggling over whether the late 70s graphite rackets were eligible was decided in favour of the organiser (who happened to get double byes in both competitions), the action began.

The Squash final was a shootout between two graphite-racked empowered familiar foes, Ian McAllister and Alan Blacklock, with the bald one prevailing.

In the ping pong event, victory went to specialist Steve Tuplin, benifiting from not destroying his upper arm with a weighty relic as he despatched his multi-sport competitors with ease (beating Ian Mc in the final).

In true 70s tradition we're all still at the bar drinking ......... with El Prez quietly simmering about not getting in on the photo as the plate winner .....
